Not a generic chatbot pasted on top. The AI can only answer from the records your role is allowed to see, and every action it takes on your behalf goes through the same permission checks as a human click.
Role-scoped chat

Your key, your data
The xAI API key lives in your own environment, and prompts are sent directly from your server. Every AI request passes through the same JWT auth and role guards as the rest of the platform. No third-party middleman, no data lake, no training on your records.
Under the hood. SchoolHQ talks to xAI Grok 4.1 Fast via an OpenAI-compatible chat completions + function-calling API. Each role has its own registry of tools — things like getMyAttendance, listPendingHomework, or getFeeStatus — and the model can only call tools permitted for the caller's role. All tool calls are logged with a request id so every AI interaction is traceable end to end.
